12 New Members from 8 Countries join SIFCUL

Shenzhen International Friendship-City UniversityLeague (SIFCUL) has been attracting the attention of world higher education andacademic fields with its increasing influence and size since its joint establishmenton July 9th, 2014 by the eight Shenzhen higher educationinstitutions, i.e. South University of Science and Technology of China;Shenzhen University; the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen; ShenzhenPolytechnic; Shenzhen Institute of Information Technology; Graduate School atShenzhen, Tsinghua University; Peking University, Shenzhen Graduate School; andHarbin Institute of Technology, Shenzhen Graduate School.


According to the SIFCUL Secretariat, by September 25,twelve universities and colleges from Russia, Britain, Ireland, Bulgaria, UnitedStates, Australia, Israel and Japan have signed up for SIFCUL membership oragreed to attend the SIFCUL Founding Ceremony and the subsequent InauguralForum on Higher Education and Network Society to be held from November 16th to18th in Shenzhen, as a special program of China International Hi-Tech Fair.


The twelve universities and colleges that have confirmedtheir participation are Samara State Academy of Social Sciences andHumanities (Russia), the University of Aberdeen King’s College (UK), RobertGordon University (UK), University of Glasgow (UK), Ravensbourne College (UK),Cork Institute of Technology (Ireland), the Medical University of Plovdiv(Bulgaria), Plovdiv University (Bulgaria), University of Houston (US), theUniversity of Queensland (Australia), and Israel Institute of Technology(Israel), and Jikei InstituteGraduate School of Health Care Sciences (Japan). In addition, threenon-SIFCUL institutions from Macau andTaiwanwill attend the SIFCUL Inaugural Forum, and they are the Universityof Macau, the NationalTsinghua Universityand the National Chung Cheng University. The list ofparticipating institutions keeps expanding.
